Mastering Short Form Video in Kuala Lumpur
This week, I had the privilege of teaching a workshop with Mindzallera at the Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur: Mastering Short Form Video.
We spent two days breaking down what makes a short form video effective:
• Structure – the anatomy of a scroll-stopping clip
• Mindset – shifting from “posting content” to “crafting an experience”
• Tools – using what’s available without overcomplication
• Techniques – turning best practices into habits that stick
Participants worked in groups to plan and produce short videos for their companies. The results were fantastic—creative, polished, and, most importantly, built to Stop the Scroll.
One of the highlights for me was watching how much the participants supported one another. Those who came as the only representative from their company received help from others — recruiting actors, brainstorming together, giving solid feedback that elevated the work, and cheering each other on. That spirit of collaboration made the room electric.
Of course, the setting played a big part too. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mindzallera several times this year, and they never fail to impress. They handle every detail with precision and bring together outstanding groups of participants. And the Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur deserves special mention. Their team is warm, attentive, and professional, making sure everything runs smoothly. Conducting a workshop there is not just seamless — it’s a joy. I joke a lot in the workshop about the amazing spread the RCKL puts on at each tea break, but honestly, even a tea break that includes beef wellington (I'm not joking) pales in comparison to how professional and friendly the staff is — they are amazing!
I left KL energized, inspired by the creativity in the room, and grateful for the professionalism of the partners who make these events possible.
I’m already looking forward to the next round in September!
